Emotions in The Sims 4

One of the new features in The Sims 4 is emotions. Different emotions can be accomplished by Moodlets (the small modifiers below your Sim). These are based on the environment, what the Sims is doing or how other Sims are acting. Each of these moodlets represents one of the fifteen emotions your Sims can have. When you add them together, that will be the emotional state of your Sim. A Sim’s emotions can affect things like Skills or career benefits. For example, your Sims can develop skills faster or produce higher quality products or a faster promotion.

The best trait to get confident is the Self-Assured trait. When you Sims have the confident emotion he/she can build friendships more easily, developing all kinds of skills (works best if you work on your Sims charisma skill), and your Sim will get a benefit while at work. When your Sim is having the active trait, it will become more likely to get the energized emotion. Unlock new actions while energized such as sit ups or push ups. When your Sim is energized it will benefit to earn faster promotion for the Secret Agent or Criminal career. Dazed is not a very common emotion, it’s possible your Sims will never get dazed in their lifetime. But their are some ways to trigger the daze emotion for the Basketcase achievement (Have a Sim get in and out of all primary emotional states within 24 Sim hours).

  • Drink too many beverages from a bar
  • Drink too much coffee
  • Try to repair or upgrade an object (this will not happen every time)
  • Crash landing in a rocketship
  • Loose a fight

  2. I know this is really pedantic but the multiply referenced “Aura’s” above seems to refer to the plural of “Aura” rather than the possesive of “Aura”

    So it should be “Auras” not “Aura’s” IMHO
