The Sims 4 Politics Mod Pack

Do your Sims have what it takes to rule the city?

Life in SimCity is getting busier and busier, and there’s an huge need of skilled and clever politicians who can keep things run smoothly…Could this be your Sims? Download the brand new Politics Mod Pack by Zerbu Tabek and find out!

This mod will bring into your game three new skills -Protest Leadership, Debating and Influence- and a new Political career, which will be active if you have Get to Work installed.

The Mod contains also a new object, The Podium (straight out of Sims 3!) which features various interactions and actions related to the career, but you can use it to practice skills as well. It’s also portable, so you can put it in the inventory and carry it around wherever you go.

Politic Career

Start off as a protester and work your way up to become Leader of the Free World.

If you have the Get to Work expansion and there’s a City Hall venue placed into your neighbourhood, the new career will be active.
Yuu can either create your own City Hall or download one for the gallery, just remember to check ”include custom content” in the gallery search option to make it show up.

When your Sims reachs the Level 5 in Politic Career, he can held a Campaign Fundraiser event, and at level 8 he can be assigned field work at various venues to Discuss Beliefs.

Protests

Inspire and create change in your community by holding protests. Will they turn out to be good or bad? It’s up to you.

The protests use the Sims 4 event system, with a various set of goals to accomplish. If you earn a gold medal at the end of the protest, your Sim will receive a 24 hour moodlet with an effect depending on the topic of the protest. If you earn a silver medal instead, the moodlet will last for 4 hours only.

If you don’t earn any medal, your Sims will receive a 24 hour moodlet with the exact opposite effect. The moodlets (both positive and negative) will extend to all the members of your household.

Sims can start protesting when they reach level 3 of the Protest Leadership aspiration., until then they can only ‘rant on the podium’. Those are all the topics your Sims can protest about (you will unlock all of them as the level of the skill increases):

  • Boring Activities (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Playful Moodlet
  • Distractions (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Focused Moodlet

Debate

Take part in debates online and with other Sims. Can your Sim create change, or will the opponents get the better of them?

We all know that a great politician shouldn’t be ranting and protesting all the time- he also needs to have the ability to discuss his arguments in a calm and constructive way. That’s when the Debating Skills comes in handy.

Sims can build their skill  py practice Debating on the Podium, discussing on the Forums and taking part in debates.

These are the available topics:

  • Boring Activities (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Playful Moodlet
  • Distractions (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Focused Moodlet
  • Lack of Inspiration (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Inspired Moodlet
  • Laziness (Skill Level 3) Gives a +3 Energized Moodlet
  • Fun Need (Skill Level 6) Slows decay of the Fun Need
  • Social Need (Skill Level 6) Slows decay of the Social Need

  • Lack of Creative Sims (Skill Level 10) Sims will build all Creative skills at double speed
  • Lack of Mentally Active Sims (Skill Level 10) Sims will build all Mental skills at double speed
  • Lack of Physical Sims (Skill Level 10) Sims will build all Physical skills at double speed
  • Lack of Social Sims (Skill Level 10) Sims will build all Social skills at double speed

Having a higher Debating skill, being Angry and waiting between successful debates will increase the chance of one being successful.

Influence

Influence the moods and actions of other Sims. Get your friends to cook and clean for you, or give your family a helping hand in their ambitions with a quick emotion boost

You can’t call yourself a politician If you don’t have a good amount of inflence on other Sims’ lifes and emotions, so there’s no surprise why this is the main skill in the Politic Career.

Just like every other skill, you can build it up and unlock new interactions who will make you able to influence other Sims.

You can build up the skill by:

  • Practice Influencing on the podium.
  • Make Insightful Forum Posts on the computer.
  • Using the Give Insightful Advice friendly social interaction unlocked at level 3.
  • Using the skill to influence other Sims.

Installation

If you don’t know how to add mods to you game, head over to our tutorial to learn it in no time!

You need to enable “Enable Script Mods” in the options for the custom interactions to appear.

The download is split into two parts: the base mod,and the venue list mod (needed to make the City Hall venue work properly.)

DOWNLOAD THE BASE MOD

DOWNLOAD THE VENUE MOD

Known Issues and Compatibility

Sometimes, when downloading a lot from the gallery, the game won’t automatically register it to the career events system. After downloading a City Hall lot from the gallery or placing one from your library, set the lot type to something random, exit build mode, enter build mode again then set the lot type to City Hall. If this is your first time using the mod, I strongly suggest saving before sending a Sim to work for the first time, just to make sure you didn’t make any mistakes. If you fail to do this, you won’t receive the option to follow your Sim to work, and the venue may behave in other strange ways.

Most features are available with only the base game. However, you will need Get to Work to play the Political career as an active one. Also, influencing a Sim’s actions won’t have any effect without Get to Work, because it uses the same system as the SimRay. Influencing emotions will still work, however.

Well, isn’t all this awesome? Sure it is, but before you go, make sure to pay Zerbu a visit and say ‘Thank you’ for all the efforts and hard work he brings into his mods! You can either visit his Twitter page or his Tumblr blog
