Catching Fish in The Sims 4
In The Sims 4 base game there are a total of 22 Fish you can catch. If you catch a fish the value of the fish can be different then shown in the table because of it’s weight. If you higher your Sims Fishing Skill there is a higher chance of catching heavier fish that has more value. The two most valuable fishes in The Sims 4 base game are the Anglerfish and the Sturgeon. In the Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat you can even catch 6 more fish, those will not count for your Fish Collection Reward but is does count for the Insect Collection Reward.
The fish your Sim holds in their inventory spoils after 24 hours. If you want to preserve the quality of the fish put them in a fishbowl or refrigerator. (The value of the fish will stay the same)
There a a few thing you can do with the collected fish: sell, cook, fertilize your garden, decorate the house with a mounted fish or put them in a fishbowl and name them.
Mounted fish give a Confident aura in the room.
How to catch all Fish

I love your site. Very clean and streamlined. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the guides.
Super helpful collection page. Will you be updating with the 3 new types of fish included in the Spa Day pack?
Yes I will 🙂 Thank you for reminding!
What bait should I use to catch a salmon?
The Salmon is listed as a common fish, so you shouldn’t need a special bait to catch it…Good luck!
I had completed my collection until I added spa day and get to work. Now it says I need 5 more fish but can’t find the names of them or where to find them. Can anyone help? Thank you, Rita
Phonnmeeal breakdown of the topic, you should write for me too!
I have found a discus and tuna that are not listed.
the reward is a plague 🙂
Your guide says to use different size fish as bait, such as “medium fish” …. How can you tell which size a fish is? Is there a charge for weight or does it go by different kinds of fish?
I would edit where you find the Red- Tailed Shark, after 3 in game days of getting nothing in the pond at Willow Creek, I went to the pond in the Glade and first catch.
Thats alot of fish
You really need to update your list.
Tuna, discuss, exotic goldfish, cichilid, tambaqui, you are missing these in your list. Thank you for your work in the list though. Super helpful.
