Simmer accidentally found his biological father by recreating his family tree in The Sims 4

deathcab4booty an active simmer and Reddit user found his biological father after a bug in The Sims 4. He’s now living with him and his wife.

This is the beautiful and inspiring story behind it:

I was debating buying the Get To Work expansion because I didn’t have a ton of money, but I did anyways because I was bored and had nothing going on. After installing the expansion pack, I realized that the update had broken my family trees. I posted on Reddit about it and realized it was a bug with the new update/expansion/whatever.

Eventually I came across a comment posted by /u/dustycube who said that they tracked their Sims’ genealogy with familyecho.com

I wasn’t about to start tracking my Sims, but I was bored enough to enter my own family tree. I called my mom and asked how to spell my cousin’s daughter’s name and she told me she wanted to see the tree when I was done. I sent it to her and she replied that I had spelled my dad’s name wrong (I have never met my biological father).

Well, I suddenly realize that the past 24 years of my life I have been looking for someone with the wrong name. After a couple days of anxiety, I finally build up the courage to do a google search.

I found him.

Fast forward 3 months later and I’m living with him and his wife on their beautiful acreage in Alberta. It’s crazy to think that none of this would have ever happened if I hadn’t bought GTW at 3 in the morning.

Sims family trees inspire me to make my own, accidentally find my biological father.
