How to become a Freelance Fashion Photographer

To find the Fashion Photographer career you’ll have to pick the career; Freelancer.

1. Become a Freelancer
   Go to your phone and choose ‘Find a Job’. Now pick the Freelancer career to become a Fashion Photographer.
2. Select an Agency
   To become a Fashion Photographer you’ll have to choose the ‘Tomorrow’s Style’ agency.

How to Earn Simoleons and get a Raise

You can earn Simoleons by accepting gigs. You’ll get paid more depending on the level of you photography skill, quality of the photo, pay per gig and your hourly fee.

Ambitious Sims get a boost while lazy Sims take longer to get the raise. When your performance maxed out you’ll be given a raise. You can unlock some very interesting interactions like the ability to edit a photo’s mood enhancement.

You’ll start with §55 per hour.

First raise

Your Sim will now make an additional §10 per hour, for a grand total of §65 per hour.

Second raise

Your Sim will now make an additional §10 per hour, for a grand total of §75 per hour.

Fourth raise

Your Sim will now make an additional §10 per hour, for a grand total of §95 per hour.

Your Sim will now make an additional §10 per hour, for a grand total of §105 per hour.

More raises

Each time you’ll get a raise you’ll make an additional §10 per hour and there’s a chance you’ll get an additional bonus for your hard work varying between 1,000 and 2,000 Simoleons. You won’t get new objects or interactions after the fifth raise.

How to check for gigs

Go to your career panel in the lower right corner of your screen. Click on the icon to see gigs that are available. You can also use the computer to check for gigs when you choose the option Freelancer. You’ll get new gigs each day after 3:00 AM.

Completing Gigs

Complete gigs to improve career performance. Finishing gigs quickly will result in an increased performance boost and bonus payments. Canceled or unfinished gigs will lower performance.

The gigs are completely random each day so make sure to check regularly for new gig to earn Simoleons. They also have a time limit to complete the gig. For most gigs you need to complete the ‘Post Photo to Fashion Simstagram’ goal. It will take 1-2 days for the photo’s to return to you so make sure you start taking photos a few days before the deadline ends.

While freelancers don’t receive promotions, improving performance will increase their standing with their trade’s agency, which leads to higher base pay and unlockable rewards! You’ll find the amount of Simoleons you will receive for the current gig in the career menu ‘Gig Payout’.

What happens when you don’t finish the gig on time?
You’ll lose performance and you won’t get paid.

Athletic Wear for the Couch Potato

• Take a Photo of Two Sims in Athletic Wear
  Ask your subjects to change into an athletic outfit. Then use the camera and tripod to photograph those Sims. You’ll only need one extra Sim and your own Sim. You can choose the option ‘Take Picture With’ and both of you will stand in front of the camera.

Finding the Style

Minimum pay: §1,000 – §8,000
Required Skill: Photography Level 5

• Chat with Style Influencer
  Click on your computer and go to Freelancer. Choose the option Chat with Style Influencer to get to know the Sim.
• Take a Photo of Sims in specific wear
  Ask your subject to change into the correct outfit and take photos.
• Meet with Style Influencer
  From the relationship panel select a Style Influencer Sim, then select Meet with Style Influencer. This will start a social event. Make sure it isn’t night time when starting this because the event will start while the influencer is still sleeping.
  Main Goal: Present Style Photographs to Style Influencer
  Talk to the Style Influencer and choose Freelancer, now click the option Show Off Photos. You can do this numerous times to get the right result.

Tips & Tricks Taking Photographs

We’ve gathered a few tips about the new photography options with the Moschino objects.

Taking pictures using the tripod

When you use the new tripod that is exclusive to The Sims 4 Moschino Stuff Pack you’ll unlock new options to take photographs of other Sims or even pets! You won’t take blurry photos anymore and gnomes will not appear on the final result.

• Take a picture of Sim carrying a pet (requires The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs)
• Take a picture of a Sim with a toddler
• Take Picture of Sim on subject mark
• Select multiple Sim to make a group photo
• Take a photo with your own Sim and another Sim from a distance (also unlocks poses)

The best thing is, you can drag the tripod and the camera in your inventory and take it with you on vacation for example. Look for the best view, and shoot beautiful pictures.

Using the Subject Mark

At first it looks like a useless item for decoration but this object actually unlocks new options for photographs! Place Sim on the mark (they will wait in that spot until their picture is taken), hire a fashion subject that will stand on that mark (this will be a random towny) or you can place your own Sim to wait for a photographer.

How to make group photo’s

First you’ll need a tripod with a camera to unlock this option. You can make group photos with a maximum of 3 Sims that can take on poses. You can always place some Sim in the back using subject marks but they won’t get their own poses.

Short on Sims to photograph? Hire a Fashion Subject for §100. You’ll get a random towny you can dress.

How to take pictures of your Sims facing the camera

Properly place your camera in front of the backdrop. It’s recommended that you use 2 rounded backdrops with a normal backdrop in between or use the Photo Drape for a clean look behind your Sim.

Aside from the arrows in the lower right corner of your camera you can use short-keys to properly focus on the subject. (These only works when the camera is standing on a tripod)

S – Move the camera further away from subject

A – Tilt camera to the left
D – Tilt camera to the right

E – Move camera up

How do you change other Sims’ clothing?

Click on the Sim and choose Plan Outfits for Fashion Subject. (Found when choosing Freelancer). This will give you the option to change the outfit in Create A Sim. If you only want to change their outfit to the requested wear, you can select Ask to Change Outfit.
