Going forward, there will still be more Laundry Day info to share and discuss. I'll have a bit more time to go to the forums and talk about some aspects of development I was too busy to delve into as they happened (including the pack's new hairstyles!), so stay tuned.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 10, 2017
Once that happens, our QA team will spend time hammering on this final candidate build to ensure we're confident in the pack we'll be shipping. So while we technically haven't “gone gold” yet, the Stuff Pack team is all smiles tonight ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 10, 2017
Because Laundry Day Stuff is scheduled for release sometime in 2018, ongoing work on The Sims 4 that’s currently being done by other teams within the studio will need to be integrated into the Laundry Day build at a later point, closer to the pack’s release date.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 10, 2017
It's a very important evening for the Stuff Pack team; we just gave the thumbs up to submit our final Laundry Day build candidate to QA! Effectively, active development on the pack is now finished, but our work isn't quite done.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 10, 2017
Is it too late to include this in Laundry Day Stuff? #highfashion I'll make sure it randomizes on townies as well; I know how much you guys love that. pic.twitter.com/vTLX6Jnm8d

They can't be placed under counters, but they're the same height/width/depth as counters, so they can tile seamlessly with them.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 9, 2017
The Washing Machine and Dryer are two separate items that you can choose to stack to save room ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 8, 2017
…and yes, I do amuse myself while working on the game.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 8, 2017
Little did Eliza know, I decided to commandeer her Washing Machine & Dryer that she foolishly placed outside her home. pic.twitter.com/lgQPG6acTc

In many ways though, "beta" has a loose definition these days, where teams consider it in different ways that suit their individual needs.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
Some of those Early Access games stay in "beta" much longer, or even indefinitely.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
Although it isn't something we do, the advent of Early Access games on some other platforms has seen some changes in how it's approached.

When you hear us talk about cuts, or a difficult decision that we made, it's with the goal of hitting these set dates/milestones.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
Beta is a milestone that's built into our schedule. The date we're targeting has been known by us since this project was first announced.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
That depends, how good are you at remembering to clean lint traps?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
There aren't low end/high end models. You can keep them from breaking via upgrades. Low end laundry would be your wash tub/clothesline.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
They're coming with The Sims 4 Laundry Day Stuff, releasing in 2018 ? You can learn more here: https://t.co/iBeFlekpHY
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
That's part of what we're fine tuning right now.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 7, 2017
Hahaha, my broken Dryer just killed the Repairman I hired… Excellent… ? pic.twitter.com/uSmSv4c2NS
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
Primarily, yes. That's how I look at the game the vast majority of the time.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
This process is how we work towards our beta and final milestones, with the find rate of issues ramping down until we remain at zero.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
Going forward, as additional issues are discovered, they'll be fixed that same day. We should be at zero each day when we leave.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
ZBB is an industry term that stands for "Zero Bug Bounce" – essentially, it's the first time on the project where we have zero open issues.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
Hats off to the Stuff Pack team, who reached our "ZBB" milestone for Laundry Day Stuff on Friday while I was out of the office.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 6, 2017
Sometime in 2018 ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 2, 2017
Busy busy. Taking Thurs/Fri off to attend Blizzcon, which means ensuring I'm leaving Laundry Day in good shape heading into the weekend.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 2, 2017
You'd have to ask a modder; we don't dictate what they decide to adjust in the game.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 1, 2017
I'd like to think so. It's ideal for running in that resolution in a window while working though.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 31, 2017
I wouldn't know, as I'm not the one who'd be doing that work. It's something we'll look into in a future release.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) November 1, 2017
Yup, you got it.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 31, 2017
Found a funny credits issue today. Laundry Day pushed us over the edge for our minimum supported resolution; starting to drop off screen! ? pic.twitter.com/RswRPfV0BQ
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 31, 2017
As you can see in the pic, that drop down already supports scroll functionality. We'll just have to adjust it so that it cuts off earlier.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 31, 2017
With seemingly only an hour remaining, two options are in a dead heat. Be sure to visit @SimGuruRad to vote on the Styled Room name as well! https://t.co/bNXeDqgp5n
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 30, 2017
It won't be out until 2018, exact release date to be shared closer to launch ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 30, 2017
Both SimguruGraham and SimguruRad has been sharing news and screenshots these past few days on The Sims 4 Laundry Day Stuff.
This seems to be a new thought bubble coming with the new stuff pack.
I don't know too much about those as I haven't worked on worlds or any EPs with locked lots… maybe @SimGuruJM would know?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 28, 2017
Nope, not even close.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 28, 2017
.@SimGuruRad has an impromptu twitter poll to help select the name for a Styled Look & Room inspired by the Laundry Day art style choice!
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 27, 2017
The first of the Laundry Day Styled Looks. pic.twitter.com/oW4vnApjoO
— Rebecca Doyle (@SimGuruRad) October 27, 2017
How about helping us name a Styled Look for #TS4LaundryDay?
— Rebecca Doyle (@SimGuruRad) October 27, 2017
This is the room we want to name. pic.twitter.com/1vpZnD4Go5
— Rebecca Doyle (@SimGuruRad) October 27, 2017
Do you want to help name a Styled Rooms in #TS4LaundryDay?
What do you think this room should be called?— Rebecca Doyle (@SimGuruRad) October 27, 2017
Only the Parenthood one does it? It likely is a valid issue then. I'm sure that pic helped @SimGuruNick ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 27, 2017
Sorry, I don't work on the Cats & Dogs expansion, so I wouldn't be best to answer. @SimGuruRad might know ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 27, 2017
Nope, only the new ones coming in Laundry Day stuff. The previous decor hampers just can't support all the new functionality we added.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 27, 2017
I've shared in the past how we don't have a limit on the number of items in a Stuff Pack, we just make as much as fits in our schedule.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
No plans for another project like this currently, but it's my hope that what we learn from this can inform more ideas like it in the future.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
This SP is fairly typical. We do lots of work that isn't readily apparent in-game, we just aren't usually discussing it during development.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
It's a good example of how the seeming simplicity of an object doesn't necessarily match the amount of work that has to go into creating it.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
For example… if I have clothing that's filthy, and clothing that's clean, and combine them together, it averages their condition together.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
There are 83 animation clips being added to support the clothing pile design, including new social interactions and idle animations.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
There are an array of moodlets & whims associated with that system that reward the positive laundry outcomes and provide gameplay pushback.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
From a player's perspective, sure – it's simple. On the game development side, the clothing pile is the most complex object in Laundry Day.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
Hamper and clothing pile.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 24, 2017
They seemed happily self-sufficient, unlike my Sims where I often turn their autonomy off.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
I don't want to discuss too much about pets as that expansion hasn't released yet… letting that team share info at their own pace ?
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
That pretty much happens throughout development. It's rare that I play with the in-development pack only. Usually have every pack enabled.
— Graham Nardone (@SimGuruGraham) October 26, 2017
